Visualisation is a powerful tool that I use constantly to keep my mind focused on my desired outcomes.
When I was 16, I had to take one of the national examinations in Singapore. This would enable me to pursue the college or tertiary path after the results. Though I had never heard of the term “visualisation” before, I surprisingly adopted this strategy while preparing for my exams. I visualised myself receiving good results on the exam day and I replayed this in my mind over several months. What I envisioned was exactly what happened on the day of the results. I did achieve the desired results.
When I became pregnant with my first child, the power of visualisation helped me enormously. From the very beginning, I only visualised myself having a smooth pregnancy. Not once did I ever look at any of the negatives that can occur. Instead, I focused solely on the positive and used visualisation to envision the perfect, smoothest birth there could be. And wonderfully, this is what I experienced during the births of both of my children. I focused my mind on how I wanted the process to go, and this desire manifested itself in the real world.
